An Invitation to Collaborate is an initiative of a collective of Townsville creative industries professionals (Creative Industries Cluster (CIC)) designed to showcase local creative talent while at the same time inviting creators from outside of the region to collaborate with local businesses.

As an outcome to the 2015 Growing Creative Industries in Townsville Project, a collective of creative industries representatives (the Creative Industries Cluster (CIC)) formed to discuss and take action on matters the local creative industries sees as important to improving the cohesiveness, opportunities and sustainability of Townsville-based creative professionals.
Key aims of the project are to:
raise the profile of high quality practitioners and the work they produce as a way of further branding Townsville as a business and creative destination – a key recommendation of the Growing the creative industries in Townsville report released by Townsville City Council and James Cook University in December 2015.
Increase co-production and investment opportunities in the local creative industries
The CIC has nominated 2 Birds 1 Stone Arts Planning & Management to oversee the administrative component of delivering the project. Creative direction, content and website development will be undertaken by (paid) project teams working collaboratively across the creative industry sectors, including videography, photography, script writing, interviewers, voice over, graphic design, music and sound media, marketing, and post production capabilities. Practitioners showcased in the video and on the web site will be invited to participate on a volunteer basis.

ASIA PACIFIC MARKET FORUM SHOWCASE OPPORTUNITY

2 Birds 1 Stone have arranged to hold a pop up exhibition alongside the Asia Pacific Market Forum being held at Rydges Southbank and invite other Townsville Creative Industry practitioners to take part in a showcase event in the spirit of our current collaborative project. The showcase event will be run independently to the Forum so all participants will be required to assist with bump in/out and staffing displays.
If we are overwhelmed with EOIs we will go through an internal selection process as space is limited. EOIs are required by NOON TUES 24 MAY.
The only costs involved will be to cover printing and some advertising (roughly $40 each depending on how many people want to be involved), so this is great opportunity to promote your creative business to an international audience.
